Greater portability for road-warriors.
Hi. Modmic is awesome. I've been telling all my colleagues: consultants who spend 40+ weeks a year on the road, and who constantly take conference calls in airports, taxis, cafes, etc. We're all hooked on Bose and similar noise-cancelling headphones. So, Modmic is the perfect way to keep our Bose QC 15/25 and add similar quality to the audio input.
(We've all tried the $400-$500 bluetooth headphones, but the microphones are terrible. Not acceptable for work calls, especially not in a public space.)
But while some people are instantly sold on my modmic rig, others look at the cables and grimace. The flapping double cables, with their ungainly clips, and then the huge extra wad of modmic cable at the end, are very traveler unfriendly. It just feels like... friction. And we don't have extra brainspace for friction. Nor extra space in the travel briefcase for junk like all that cable.
I'd happily pay $50-$100 for an integrated cable, of the correct length, that combines the audio and mic cables and plugs with style and grace. I don't know how big that market is, but for people like me who are on the road and the phone all week, it's a tiny, tiny price to pay for a premium, professional teleconference experience.
Cheers, and thanks for Modmic, CML
